Cafe Drawings

My buddy Trevor Spencer (Who does not have a blog yet but SHOULD) and I have been going cafe drawing alot lately. It's nice and relaxing mainly because I don't have a teacher breathing down my back telling me how do them correctly.

Barbarians

The ones that never made it to the wall.
John Nevarez inspired.
And yes the one with the mace has both a loin cloth AND pants on.
He's trying to make a fashion statement.

Holy Huge Art Dump!

I did not draw this. Joe Madureira drew it. I only coloured it.
The link to his fan website is on the right.

This is concept art I did for the third year film, "the Sun King"
These are for the story idea I had to pitch to my story board class.

A gorilla.

These are some cafe drawings I did the other day that I decided to try painting with gouache.

The rest are just things I did over the summer.

Smokin'

With this one I was trying to mix a cartoony style with a painterly look. I've been trying to get away from being too realistic.

Super Man

I loved Superman's character in Superman Returns. I thought Bryan Singer did an excellent job at capturing what Superman is all about. Truth and Justice. He was so calm, focused and powerful... He was amazing.

Done in Photoshop 7.

Techno

I was trying out tweaking with the different brushes in PS7. Unforunately I don't remember how I got the brush I did this image with. I like keeping things loose. It's hard to get dynamic images. I need to keep looking to my favourite artists for inspiration. Maybe this problem would be resolved if I went to life drawing more often...

THOR

I did not draw this. I only coloured it. The oh so talented Eduardo Francisco drew it.

I was both surprised and honoured when he asked me if I wanted to colour something of his. It was a good experience. I'm not use to colouring other people's work.

CG Marathon

Starting May 1st I've been part of this daily digital illustration thing Yuan came up with and it's been pretty fun. It gives me a chance to explore different styles and expirement with different colouring techniques. Here's what I've completed so far. Some of them are not so hot but hey, gotta get those bad drawings out of me sooner or later ;)
